The full title is "Kuji 2004 Shakyo Jin Nikki" which means "Events in the Sky: A Photo-Maniac's Diary 2004".
When Nobuyoshi Araki is asked what the year 2004 reminds him of, he replies
"the sky".
"I was sad, for some reason. Only that year did the vapor trails behind the jets seem to cross the sky for me.
Behind Araki's words lies his encounter with the poet Minori Miyata.
She contacted him, "Would you like to photograph me and my body, with her only remaining breast?"
Araki remembers how her overwhelming presence moved him; her life and the flowers.
The photo book "Soragoto" (lit. "Fabrication," written with the character for "sky") chronicles Araki's meeting with Miyata and was published to mourn his death on March 18, 2005, at the age of 34.
