About

The Écho 119 gallery and bookstore was founded in 2016 by Noëlle Colin, who divides her time between France and Japan. Specializing in photography, the gallery presents the work of established and emerging photographers, with a particular interest in Japanese artists. Without ever deviating from this dual culture that makes its identity and determines its line, Écho119 has been enriched by new artistic sensibilities, whose common point is the practice of an art concerned with contemporary issues, with a significant formal concern, an aesthetic research that makes images intellectually and visually powerful works of art. In the spirit of the Japanese photographic tradition, Écho119 also offers a wide selection of photography books, from the latest releases to rare editions. The gallery is directed by Salomé d'Ornano and by Kinuko Asano as artistic director.

To find this unusual place, sheltered from the noise of the street, ring the bell at 119 rue Vieille du Temple in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris in the heart of the Marais. Go through the large black door and enter the courtyard. The gallery is behind the hedge on your left.
