Scott is known for his photographic work of people, portraits, and the female form, but in Conversations with Blue, he puts down the camera and produces minimal abstract works in an attempt to personalize the ocean. Scott's new images present moments of fragility and harmony captured with respect for his time and place. Nigel's cyanotypes are each unique, single images exposing a moment with the intention of bringing us closer to the ocean. Here is a quote from Scott about his initial inspiration for his most recent work: "During a trip to Jamaica and remembering my mother's love of flowers and ikebana, I began using flowers, leaves, and any other flora as negatives of nature."
