MEANWHILE

08.09.2021 - 11.09.2021

"Meanwhile" is a collection of photographs taken during the very first lockdown by French art direction students from Penninghen and Japanese students from the Kyoto University of the Arts. The students, gathered in French-Japanese duos, got to know each other through these photographs.

The partnership between the two schools was an opportunity to find ways to engage in dialogue beyond the barriers of language and physical meeting.

It also allowed students to share their anxieties arising from the incongruous period of confinement in which they were immersed at each end of the Earth, thus creating links to face this quasi planetary upheaval.

There are 13 duos and the collection includes nearly 300 photographs.
