PARIS PHOTO 2024 - SAKIKO NOMURA
FAIR: PARIS PHOTO - D15
SAKIKO NOMURA,
TRÄUMEREI
Galerie Echo 119 is proud to announce its first participation in Paris Photo at the Grand Palais with a solo show by Sakiko Nomura and her Träumerei series, never before exhibited outside of Japan.
The series Dreams consists of black and white diptychs that interact with color images whose negative has been eaten away by mold, drawing random psychedelic patterns that transform the photographed landscape, taking the viewer into a world outside of reality. The title of the series translates to "dream" or "reverie" in German. It is also the title of a piano score by the German composer Robert Schumann. The works in this exhibition are characterized by a mixture of travel memories and intimate moments, evoking fragments of memories (real or imaginary) that are similar to daydreams.
The association of images is not made by logic of places and/or dates, but rather by poetic visual fragments. The viewer can thus give free rein to his imagination to give meaning to the paintings created by Sakiko Nomura.
The exhibition can be seen at Paris Photo at the Grand Palais on stand D15, from November 7-10, 2024.
