I took these photos around 1963 and 1964 at the Nagisa Hotel in Zushi, the Nagisa Hotel in Shinagawa, and Chigasaki Beach. The subject was my girlfriend, her initials were YO. At the time, I was working at a design firm in Ginza, Tokyo, and I photographed her in seven or eight sessions on my days off. I hoped to publish them in the monthly magazine Camera Mainichi, but Shoji Yamagishi, the editor, didn't approve. It's been 50 years since then, and my wish has finally come true.
