Michiko Kon is a contemporary Japanese artist of startling originality. Her exploration of the photographic still-life, in which perishable materials such as raw fish, fowl, and vegetables, are combined with familiar, often feminine objects - a schoolgirl's uniform, high-heeled shoes, a pocketbook - triggers our senses of touch, taste and smell through vision and imagination.
