« Zeche Westfahlen I/II Ahlen » is a photographic book named after a former Alhen factory that was destroyed in June 2000. Naoya Hatakeyama was commissioned by REGIONAL 2004 to photograph the end of 100 years of mining history. The book offers images of the industrial landscape of Alhen, which appears to be void of any human presence, except for this huge iron construction which also eventually disappeared.
