OMALO features a set of photograms from a series of 30 unique prints, made by photographer Grégoire Eloy in 2019 and 2020 in the Caucasus, Georgia, as part of the Tbilisi Photo Festival residency. Alternating photograms and their setting in situation, Grégoire Eloy shakes up our perception of what is the image: each shot resulting in a photogram (action of the light on the photosensitive paper arranged in the space) and a view of the setting in situation (image captured by the camera). Extending this feeling of the image of the inside and the outside, or more broadly of what is the image, the book's model proposes a pathway playing with subtlety on these different surfaces of the photograph.

OMALO presents a set of photograms from a series of 30 unique copies, taken by the photographer Grégoire Eloy in 2019 and 2020 in the Caucasus, in Georgia, as part of the Tbilisi Photo Festival residency. Alternating between photograms and their staging, Grégoire Eloy shakes up our perception of what an image is: each shot results in a photogram (action of the flash light on the photosensitive paper placed in space) and a view of the staging (image captured by the camera). Extending this feeling of the image from the inside and the outside, or more broadly of what an image is, the book's layout offers a journey that subtly plays on these different surfaces of photography.
