Shigeo Gocho (1946–1983) suffered from caries of the thoracic vertebrae as a child, which stopped him from growing and left him with a physical handicap that caused his back to bend. Gocho studied photography under Kiyoji Otsuji at Kuwasawa Design School, and after that, he continued to shoot while battling illness and published a total of three photo books during his lifetime. He died in 1983 at the age of 36. One of the main features of Gocho's work is that there are many snapshots of children. Keeping children as its main feature, this portfolio is the first collotype work of Gocho and includes one work from “Days”, 4 works from “Self and Others”, and one work from “Childhood Time”.
