Fan Ho (1931-2016) was one of Hong Kong's most renowned photographers. Having moved from Shanghai to Hong Kong in 1949, he captured Hong Kong streets and people's daily lives during the 50s and 60s, amidst the city's economic transformation. Fan Ho often composed his photographs with unique geometrical compositions and textures, while creating a sense of atmosphere with the interplay of light and shadow. With the collaboration between the Fan Ho Foundation and Blue Lotus Gallery, Kyoto Benrido has created a collotype portfolio containing six of Fan Ho's signature works, with each print handmade by master printers in Benrido's atelier.
