LAUNCH “THE HUNT FOR MONSTERS” - ELISE LEBAINDRE
See you on Thursday, April 20 from 6 p.m.!
For his very first book, we are pleased to organize the launch of “ “Monster Hunt ” by the young artist Elise Lebaindre , a collection project combining photography and poetry.
The project is based on a fictional situation depicting an encounter between a tormented man, wounded by attacks suffered in his childhood, and the man he is about to become by taking the executioner's path in his turn.
The imagery unfolds in a fictional visual universe, based on bright, saturated colors alternating with archival images.
The texts are anchored in a realistic and refined dynamic. The artist thus seeks to produce a sensory exploration, through a dialogue between two distinct creative forms, by entering the psyche of a character, his emotions, his pains and especially his doubts. The story insists on an inner evolution of the protagonist in three successive states, represented by three distinct chromies.
The writer has thought of an interactive narration, navigating between image and words, inviting the reader to come into contact with the box when opening the book, to release the hidden contents that will guide his reading. The artists construct this impossible dialogue between a being and his own demons, and force a dynamic and involved reading. The collection thus offers a double meaning of reading, each person being able to undertake the exploration that suits him, upside down or right side up.
They build a plot based on mystery, uncertainty and the notion of cycle. They project their reader into the shoes of the protagonist, who tries by all means to uncover the true meaning of this interview, by fully involving himself in the hunt for monsters.
