À l’occasion de son exposition à la Filature, Stephen Dock réalise un travail photographique en immersion dans l’ancienne maison d’arrêt de Mulhouse quelques mois après sa fermeture définitive.

Le livre « 36 » rassemble les trente-six images d’une même pellicule éditées dans l’ordre original de prises de vue. 
L’ouvrage, contraint en son sein, évoque l’expérience de l’enfermement dans un espace unique, la « promenade individuelle ». 
En le photographiant compulsivement, l’auteur s’empare de ce lieu et se confronte à ses murs.

On the occasion of his exhibition at La Filature, Stephen Dock carried out an immersion photographic work in the former Mulhouse prison a few months after its definitive closure.
The book "36" brings together thirty-six images from the same film, edited in the original order in which they were taken.
The book, constrained within itself, evokes the experience of confinement in a single space, the "individual walk".
By photographing it compulsively, the author takes possession of this place and confronts its walls.
