For his 60th birthday, Koji Onaka looks back at his childhood.
Originally published in 2011, Koji Onaka has re-issued his photobook “Long time no see”, including new images, for the 60th anniversary of his own birth. The book consists of photographs of Koji Onaka as a child, taken by his father (an avid photographer) in black-and-white and colorized by Onaka in Photoshop. They are photos never meant to be published; Onaka being cuddled by his mother, the family posing to commemorate a holiday, Onaka as a toddler sitting on his father’s motorbike.
“Little pictures that I’ve seen since I was a child. I made them larger, added colors, and then I saw so much in them. I have never looked at single photographs for such a long time.”

Pour son 60e anniversaire, Koji Onaka se replonge dans son enfance.
Publié à l'origine en 2011, Koji Onaka a réédité son livre de photos "Long time no see", incluant de nouvelles images, pour le 60e anniversaire de sa propre naissance. Le livre se compose de photographies de Koji Onaka enfant, prises par son père (un photographe passionné) en noir et blanc et colorisées par Onaka dans Photoshop. Ce sont des photos qui n'ont jamais été destinées à être publiées ; Onaka câlinant sa mère, la famille posant pour commémorer une fête, Onaka tout petit assis sur la moto de son père.
"Des petites images que je vois depuis que je suis enfant. Je les ai agrandies, j'ai ajouté des couleurs, et puis j'ai vu tellement de choses en elles. Je n'ai jamais regardé des photographies isolées pendant si longtemps. "
