Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer notre présence, pour la deuxième année, à Photo London, qui aura lieu du 16 au 19 mai 2024. Nous présenterons des œuvres de Sakiko Nomura, Tokyo Rumando et Chieko Shiraishi, Chloé Jafé et Virginie Blajberg autour du thème « Objets d'intimité ».
A propos des artistes exposées :
Sakiko Nomura explore l'intimité dans la culture japonaise à travers sa photographie. Dans sa série « Another Black Darkness » (2009, Japon), elle solarise les images pour obscurcir l'intime, incitant à la contemplation et à l'imaginaire de ce qui reste caché. Le travail de Nomura embrasse le mystère, invitant les spectateurs à ressentir plutôt qu'à articuler les émotions véhiculées par la lumière et les images.
Tokyo Rumando utilise l'autoportrait pour explorer et (re) trouver son image face aux regards masculins. À travers des mises en scène audacieuses, elle remet en question les normes identitaires, se réinventant continuellement. Dans sa série en cours "Visible/Invisible Memories", elle explore la notion de mémoire, entrelaçant subtilement des autoportraits élaborés avec des fragments de réalité, tissant ainsi une toile de souvenirs intimes, depuis l'enfance jusqu'à des événements plus récents.
Chieko Shiraishi explore l'intimité à travers la mémoire, sondant la fugacité du temps et des instants. Pour cette série en cours, elle réalise de petits tirages albuminés, capturant les petits détails et les merveilles qui ont attiré son œil lors de ses nombreux voyages et dans son quotidien. Elle forme ainsi sa collection intime, son propre cabinet de curiosités.
L'artiste française Chloé Jafé conjugue art et documentaire, s'immergeant dans des thématiques profondément intimes. Dans sa série "I Give You My Life" (2013-2019, Japon), elle plonge au cœur de l'univers des femmes de yakuzas à Tokyo. Son exploration photographique offre un éclairage sur ces femmes qui vivent en marge de la société japonaise. Jafé ose repousser les frontières de la photographie traditionnelle en manipulant directement ses tirages avec des acryliques et des pinceaux.
Virginie Blajberg marie la photographie et la joaillerie pour façonner de petits objets matérialisant ses souvenirs intimes. En transformant des photos d'archives familiales en bijoux, elle réinvente ces souvenirs, les immortalisant d'une manière nouvelle. Ses créations, à la fois œuvres d'art et bijoux portables, permettent de réinterpréter l'histoire des images familiales, témoins à la fois de son histoire personnelle et des liens familiaux universels.

We are delighted to announce, for the second year, our presence at Photo London, that will take place from May 16 to 19, 2024. We will be presenting artworks by Sakiko Nomura, Tokyo Rumando and Chieko Shiraishi, Chloé Jafé and Virginie Blajberg around the theme “Objects of Intimacy”.
Sakiko Nomura explores intimacy in Japanese culture through her photography. In her "Another Black Darkness" series (2009, Japan), she solarizes images to obscure intimacy, prompting contemplation and imagination on what remains hidden. Tokyo Rumando uses self-portraiture to reclaim her image from the male gaze. She stages herself to challenge identity notions, constantly reinventing herself. In her ongoing "Visible/Invisible Memories" series, she explore memory and memories, blending staged self-portraits with fragments of reality to create a patchwork of intimate recollections, ranging from childhood to recent events.
Chieko Shiraishi explores intimacy through memory, delving into the fleeting nature of time and moments. For this ongoing series, she makes small albumen prints, capturing the small details and wonders that have caught her eye on her many travels and in her everyday life. In so doing, she forms her own intimate collection, her own cabinet of curiosities.
French artist Chloé Jafé's photography combines artistry with documentary, focusing on deeply personal themes. In her "I Give You My Life" series (2013-2019, Japan), she immersed herself in the world of the women of yakuza in Tokyo. Jafé's photographic exploration offers insights on these women who live on the fringes of Japanese society. She fearlessly pushes the boundaries of traditional photography by directly manipulating prints with acrylics and brushes.
Artist Virginie Blajberg combines photography and jewelry to craft small objects that materialize and shape her intimate memories. She gathers family photographs and transforms them into tangible items, reclaiming and immortalizing these memories. Her pieces serve as both art objects and wearable jewelry, allowing for the reappropriation of family imagery and the universal narrative of familial bonds.
