"Daido Moriyama in São Paulo & Miguel Rio Branco in Tokyo" represents a collaborative effort between Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama and Brazilian photographer Miguel Rio Branco, a Magnum Photo member. This project emerged within the context of the "Neo-Tropicalia: Brazil's Creativity" exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in 2008, commemorating the 100th anniversary of immigration to Brazil. As part of this initiative, a photography exchange between Japan and Brazil was undertaken, resulting in the "Resonating Quiet Eyes" photo exhibition. Moriyama and Blanco captured Buenos Aires and Tokyo, respectively, in a sort of cultural exchange akin to a study abroad program. This book, consisting of two volumes with accompanying texts, showcases their distinct photographic collections. While Moriyama's focus lies on the people of the city, Blanco delves into intricate details and textures, crafting a sculptural narrative. Despite their differing approaches, both photographers exhibit a keen sensitivity in portraying the essence of their respective urban landscapes.

"Daido Moriyama à São Paulo & Miguel Rio Branco à Tokyo" est une œuvre collaborative entre le photographe japonais Daido Moriyama et le photographe brésilien Miguel Rio Branco, membre de Magnum Photo. Ce projet a émergé dans le cadre de l'exposition "Néo-Tropicalia : La Créativité du Brésil" au Musée d'Art Contemporain de Tokyo en 2008, commémorant le 100e anniversaire de l'immigration au Brésil. Dans le cadre de cette initiative, un échange photographique entre le Japon et le Brésil a été entrepris, donnant lieu à l'exposition photo "Regards Silencieux en Résonance". Moriyama et Blanco ont capturé Buenos Aires et Tokyo, respectivement, dans une sorte d'échange culturel similaire à un programme d'études à l'étranger. Ce livre, composé de deux volumes avec des textes accompagnants, présente leurs collections photographiques distinctes. Alors que l'accent de Moriyama est mis sur les habitants de la ville, Blanco explore les détails et les textures complexes, créant une narration sculpturale.
