The title 'Träumerei' refers to a musical composition for piano by Robert Schumann, and means 'dream' or 'reverie'. As these words suggest, the six works presented here are characterised by a dreamy combination of travel memories and intimacy. Although these images were taken all over the world (Japan, India, Spain), the movement they provoke in the viewer is first and foremost internal: the strangely harmonious diptych combination of the tenderness of the nudes and the brutality of the city plunges us into the world that Sakiko Nomura has woven since the beginning of her career, and which this portfolio presents with great delicacy.
Printed by Benrido in Kyoto, one of the last remaining workshops in the world to use the 19th-century French technique known as "collotype", each image in Träumerei has incredibly deep, soft tones, which blend skilfully with the dreaminess of Sakiko Nomura's photographs.

Imprimé par Benrido à Kyoto, l’un des derniers ateliers au monde pratiquant la technique française datant du 19ème siècle et nommée “collotype”, chaque image de Träumerei a des tons incroyablement profonds et doux, se mariant habilement au côté rêveur des photographies de Sakiko Nomura.
